DIABETES
Diabetes is multifatorial. You will not get diabetes just because of eating candies.
In fact, people with diabetes can eat sweets and other food that they used to enjoy by individualizing the timing and its portion size.

Diabetes can occur in any age and any ethnicity. Healthy lifestyle and medication compliance are essential in managing disease progression and preventing other health-related issues like heart disease or kidney failure.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a type of diabetes that is diagnosed in the second or third trimester of pregnancy and usually can be resolved postpartum. There is a 7 times risk of developing type 2 diabetes for women who had GDM. Screening for diabetes and prediabetes for those with a history of GDM should be done 6-12 weeks after delivery and repeated every 3 years.
We can prevent or slowing its progression from prediabetes and/or gestational diabetes to diabetes by adapting a healthy lifestyle through weight management, food choices and physical activities.
Consult with the dietitian or your healthcare professionals to learn more about how to prevent and manage diabetes while still able to enjoy eating and sharing food with friends and families.
